From Jacksboro go west 1-2 miles on hwy 380 to hwy 4 then south 14 miles to Halsell Road then west (right) on a windy, hilly gravel road for 4 miles to Lake Godstone™ on your right.
You’ll know you are here when you see the 8 foot cedar fence on your right and the overhead power lines. Address is 4636 Halsell Ranch Road, Jacksboro 76458. Call 940-275-0908.

Includes full use of our entire campus including the 35 person Lodge, three-bedroom Guest Home, Inspiration Cabin, Wilderness Roost Cabin, Field House Cabin, Reflection Cabin, Refuge and Top of Dam Group Campgrounds, Serenity RV campsite with Motor Home, Panorama RV campsite, five secluded tent-sites, and the Comfort Station with showers and toilets. Also includes exclusive use of our Gun/Archery range, sports fields, four-mile biking trail, six fishing docks with swim ladders and watercraft moorings, lily pads, canoes, kayaks, pedal boat and row boat. Includes our six-person UTV to enjoy our six miles of all-weather trails around the forested lake and wooded meadow. Occupancy is based on campground use as well as the base 56 beds available in our facilities. Many of the 56 beds are full, queen and king size beds. Guest is to provide the name and cell number for a person in charge of each facility.

Fishing was awesome…
All was great! I especially enjoyed the fishing. In an hour or 2 of fishing over 2 days, I had 5 catfish on. I landed the first one (3 or so lbs.). The 2nd one broke my leader, the 3rd pulled my snap swivel open. I saw every fish, they weren’t snags. I replaced snap swivel with barrel swivel and was pulling the 4th up to the lodge patio and my line snapped. Landed 5th one, (2-3 lbs.). On my 3rd day, I fished beaver pond and caught 20 or so very nice blue gills (most as big as my hand) in 1 1/2 hours and one large, feisty catfish. The conditions were less than ideal for fishing as it rained heavily the day before the weekend and water was a little cool and muddy. One can not, not catch fish at Lake Godstone.
Great Value.
A beautiful retreat. My niece had her wedding here and it was the perfect place to bring both sides of the family together to get to know one another. Great view, quiet, kid-friendly, great value.
Everything was perfect!
My wife and I were tasked with find a place to hold an event for the Knights Templar of Texas, and we took a chance with Lake Godstone, and I praise the Lord that we did. This is the new home of the Knights Templar Retreat. Family friendly, a very welcoming staff, and more accommodations than you can shake a stick at. Everything was perfect!We are planning on hosting Leadership training, seminars, and more events at Lake Godstone. If you are looking for a retreat of any kind, business, church, or even a large family reunion, this is your spot, look no further!
Great Getaway!
A great getaway for family fun! My granddaughter throughly enjoyed the swimming area. Great place to fish too! The large gathering area is so much fun for a group to dine, visit and watch TV or play games. There's also many areas for privacy and quiet time. A wonderful place to go! Sept 2023

Looking forward to returning.
This was our 3rd church family retreat at Lake Godstone. Each year the attendance has grown, we had 42 adults and 25 children sign up this year. This year we reserved the entire campus, it worked out perfectly. Our days were filled with hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming and enjoying the overall beauty of the ranch. We had an afternoon at the gun range for the adults while the kids were kept busy doing crafts in the lodge classroom. The nights were spent around the campfire on the dam after enjoying a hay ride through the trails. We finished it off with our church service Sunday morning. To make it easy we divide the meals amongst the families, the lodge was perfect for fixing and serving the food. Dom and Carol are excellent hosts and always there when we need them. And the communications from Jim were excellent. We've already reserved the campus for next year's event, and we are looking forward to returning again. April 2023
