From Jacksboro go west 1-2 miles on hwy 380 to hwy 4 then south 14 miles to Halsell Road then west (right) on a windy, hilly gravel road for 4 miles to Lake Godstone™ on your right.

Plenty of room and great scenery
The whole property is great to get away from everything. It was our first time camping with a travel trailer and Top of dam was a great location. Plenty of room, great scenery. We rode bikes on all the trails and all the sites were secluded and roomy. It was cold and windy but we made the most of it. We are planning on returning with a bigger group to enjoy it again and utilize more of the amenities. Dec 2025

Lake Godstone was the perfect venue to wrap up our summer camp, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! We brought about 20 pre-teens, and they had the time of their lives swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boating. 🛶🚣♀️ The team at Lake Godstone always goes above and beyond to make sure everything is ready for us when we arrive – from life jackets to kayaks and canoes, they’ve got it covered! And if we happen to forget something (which, let's be honest, we usually do 😉), Dom and Carol are always there to help out with a smile. Their hospitality and kindness make the whole experience even more enjoyable. 💖 We can’t recommend Lake Godstone enough – it’s a 10/10 every time! Thank you, Dom, Carol, and Jim, for being such amazing hosts. We’ll definitely be back next year! 🎉
Wonderful time getting back to nature
We had a wonderful time getting back to nature! Fishing, hiking, kayaking, and swimming! We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the fresh air and all that God has to offer! The bathrooms were conveniently located and superbly clean! Even on a busy holiday weekend it didn't feel overcrowded! Definitely a must try for family campouts! May 2025

Amazing Time!
This was a spur in the moment trip from having a crappy week and OH MY, am I in love with this place! It feels very safe and quiet there. I got to meet the owner and the sweet couple that works there. So inviting and welcoming! Dom and Carol even offered to help me with fire and gave me a tour. I also got to meet their sweet fur baby. Will definitely be coming back with friends or by myself again with my fur babies to just relax. 🥰 thank yall for such an amazing time!!! Can't wait to see yall again soon. Feb 2025
Fun Experience!
It was a very fun experience staying at top of the dam campsite. We will be back and possibly stay at some of the other locations. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We forgot our pump to our air mattresses and they were able to provide a air compressor which helped out tremendously. Thank you so much! We will be back! Nov 24
Wonderful Experience!

Incredible Camping Experience
We had an incredible camping experience that far exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, Carol and Dom made us feel like family with their warm welcome and hospitality. The campsite itself was pristine, peaceful, and had everything we could have possibly needed. Whether it was the serene surroundings, the thoughtful amenities, or the attention to detail, it was clear that Carol and Dom truly care about their guests' experience. This is a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return! The views, the lake, the vibe and next time we will check out refuge!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!!
Fantastic Campsite!
Fantastic camp site, extremely accommodating staff, beautiful camp grounds, a ton of stuff to do, peaceful and relaxing, kids had a blast kayaking, fishing, Swimming, playing basketball. Would highly recommend! June 2024
Fun filled place
This is a great fun filled place! I took a group of middle schoolers there and we al had so much fun! They are very accommodating.
Top of Hill Heaven
This location spot was superb. Plenty of space for multiple tents or campers. 0.18 miles/about a 4 min walk for the wonderful comfort stations. Clean, clean comfort stations! Dominic and Carol were great. Dominic took my kids and I on an ATV ride. Just a word to the wise - it is high up on a hill (as it states) so if you pull a pop-up with a mini van (like us), put it in 2nd gear and make sure to keep your momentum to get up the hill. If the gravel would have been slick AT ALL, we would not have made it up the steep hill. All in all, it was the BEST experience! Nov 13, 2022
